Program Improvement Narrative

TECHNICAL COLLEGE SYSTEM OF GEORGIA (TCSG) — PERKINS V LOCAL APPLICATION
Program Improvement Narrative · Carl D. Perkins CTE Act, Sec. 135(b)

Region: Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Alpharetta, GA MSA
Program Areas: Cybersecurity (CIP 11.1003), Computer Programming (CIP 11.0201), Radiologic Technology (CIP 51.0911)

1. Alignment with TCSG Strategic Priorities
This proposal supports TCSG's mission to build a skilled Georgia workforce through accessible, employer-aligned technical education. Curriculum audits performed with the SYNAPSE-ED Engine benchmark each program's competencies against 24-month regional job-posting data and TCSG program standards, ensuring course outcomes map to the TCSG Program Guide and state-approved curriculum.

2. Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA)
Audit evidence documents curriculum decay and critical skill gaps against Metro Atlanta employer demand, satisfying CLNA requirements for labor-market alignment, program size, scope and quality, and progress toward the Georgia State Perkins V Plan performance targets.

3. Proposed Activities
 a) Modernize program modules flagged as decaying by the audit, in coordination with TCSG program faculty consortia.
 b) Replace AI-vulnerable assessments with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) performance tasks offering Written, Screencast Video and Live Sandbox options.
 c) Expand work-based learning with Metro Atlanta employers through TCSG's industry advisory committees.
 d) Deliver faculty micro-credentials in authentic assessment design.

4. Performance Indicators (Georgia State Plan)
 - 2P1 Credential attainment, 3P1 Placement, and 5P1 Program quality targets as negotiated with TCSG.
 - Reduce Curriculum Decay Index below 15% at the next annual audit.
